The nation is still reeling after the recent shooting at a high school in Florida that killed fourteen students and three teachers–the 18th school shooting since January 1st and the latest in a long string of mass shootings including Columbine, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook, an African American church in South Carolina, a Baptist Church in Texas, and a country music concert in Las Vegas.
Parents are grieving. The dead are being buried. And yet, our elected representatives refuse to act.
Thoughts and prayers are not enough.
Enough is enough.
Now is the time for us to join the students, teachers, parents, and others in demanding that our elected officials act to address the epidemic of gun violence in America.
