“Justice on Jones Street” is UU Forward Together’s annual day of citizen lobbying and advocacy at the North Carolina General Assembly in Raleigh.
We’ll gather on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019 at the UU Fellowship of Raleigh (3313 Wade Av., Raleigh) at 9:30 am to learn about the legislative process, how to be an effective citizen lobbyist, and some of the current issues that state lawmakers are (or should be) considering.
Then we’ll car pool to downtown Raleigh for a quick tour of the state Legislative Building and Legislative Office Building, take a group photo, eat lunch (on your own) at the legislative cafeteria (or elsewhere), and spend a few hours talking with our elected state Senators and Representatives about pending legislation.
We’re hoping that at least 24 UUs from across North Carolina will come to Raleigh for this event and that others who can’t come to Raleigh will participate by contacting their legislators by phone or email.
