Join with tens of thousands of North Carolinians in Raleigh on Saturday, February 10, 2018 for the 12th annual HKonJ Moral March on Raleigh.
Unitarian Universalists from all across North Carolina are invited to march together with their congregational banners and yellow “Standing on the Side of Love” T-shirts.
We’ll begin gathering at 8:30 am (stay tuned for more information about exactly where we’ll assemble), attend the pre-march rally from 9:00 – 10:00 am (near the corner of Wilmington and South Streets in Raleigh), begin marching to the Old State Capitol at the corner of Fayetteville and Morgan Streets at 10:00 am, and gather together for the People’s Assembly.
After the Moral March and People’s Assembly, Unitarian Universalists are invited to gather from 1:00 to 4:00 pm just a few blocks away at the Church of the Good Shepherd (125 Hillsborough Street) to
- worship and sing together,
- learn more about the “rebooted” Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry of North Carolina,
- hear a keynote presentation from North Carolina pastor, blogger, author, and speaker John Pavlovitz about justice and faith, and
- participate in a brief social justice workshop before heading back home.
Although you don’t need to register for the moral march and rally, we do need to ask you to register for UUJMNC’s HKonJ Gathering that will be held after the march and rally.
Box lunches will be provided to those who register for the Post-March UUJMNC Gathering.
A suggested donation of $15 per person is requested (payable on site) to partially cover the cost of lunch, the speaker’s fee, and other expenses but no one will be turned away because of money.
